FilmName: Raid

Director: Raj Kumar Gupta

Music Director: Amit Trivedi, Tanishk Bagchi

As the title of the movie, it starts with an unknown Raid. Director Raj Kumar Gupta decides to keep the suspense under the wraps and pulls back the story a month earlier. Introducing Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn), an honest I-drink-what-I-can-afford, IAS officer.

He’s honest, he’s strict and decides to go after people who are stealing taxes from the government. Amay has a loving wife in Nita Patnaik (Ileana D’Cruz) who is annoyed by his 49 transfers till now.

Amay gets an unknown call who gives him leads about a big fish stealing tax.

Trusting his instincts, Amay decides to execute this raid by teaming up with his men. Following an interesting pattern, Amay without letting anyone know about the assessee goes ahead to raid his house.

Without wasting much time, Gupta reveals Rameshwar Singh (Saurabh Shukla), an infamous MP of the area whose house gets raided by Amay. Gupta takes the entertainment question to another level as the process of raid starts in the film. The introduction scene between Amay and Rameshwar hints at what we’ve in store for the remaining movie.

Couple of songs in the first half surely spoils the party and could easily have been avoided. Good thing is, the songs are in bits and pieces. First half of the movie ends on a brilliant note building up a strong base for the second one. One brilliant thing about the first half of the movie is its subtle humour, it’s there throughout.
